Washington Eats: Ethiopic Restaurant

It’s a very clean and modern designed restaurant.  Servers were very nice and helpful.  Food was very good, but overpriced.  All were very flavourful, nicely spiced and not too oily.  Their spiced bread and injera were good too.  Portions are large, so better come here and share the dishes with someone.  You’ll get filled up in no time when you scoop and eat with injera.

This bread was fluffy and was spiced very well.

Vegetarian Sampler, with Fish
(Clockwise direction): Kik Aletcha, Dinich Wot, Gomen, Miser Wot

Kik Aletcha: Yellow split peas simmered in a mild and flavorful onion and herb sauce (Mild).

Dinish Wot: Curried potato simmered with onions, farlic, jalapeno peppers, ginger, olive oil, fresh herbs & spices (Mild)

Miser Wot: Split lentils simmered in spicy hot sauce (Spicy).
Awesome yumminess!

Gomen: Fresh collard green simmered in mild sauce seasoned with spice and herbs (Mild)

Fish
Asa Tibs: Fried Croaker fish marinated with fresh herbs & spices and served with lemon
Nice fresh fish.

No utensils are provided.  Eat by scooping food with injera.
