Québec City Eats: Restaurant Le Marie-Clarisse

Le Marie-Clarisse specializes in seafood.  It is located in a house with stone walls over 340 years old and in prime location in lower town.  The menu changes daily.  It has a nice ambience.  Table d’hôte four-course meal is between $38 – $50+.  The servers were very friendly and informative.  The food was good but much overpriced.  I’m sure there are many better options in the surrounding area.

Calmar poêle à la façon du chef et salade grecque
(Pan seared calamari Greek salad and Asian sauce)

Terrine de gibiers et confits oignons, carottes
(Venison terrine, onion and carrot jams)

Trio de poissons fumés sur nid de céleri rave
(Three ways smoked fish on celery root salad)

Moules au cari et coco sur salade du bas du fleuve
(Mussels with curry and coconut sauce on seaweed salad)

Flétan d’Atlantique, sauce vin blanc et poivrons
(Atlantic halibut, white wine and sweet pepper sauce)

Marmite du pêcheur à la façon Marie-Clarisse et sauce rouille
(Marie Clarisse bouillabaisse rouille sauce)

Pâtes du jour selon l’inspiration
(Pasta of the day: Seafood linguini)

Tarte au sucre, Gâteau au fromage, Tarte au citron, Tarte aux pommes
(Sugar pie, Cheese cake, Lemon pie, Apple pie)
