September ’11: Watermelon and Feta Salad


  • Watermelon, cut into cubes
  • Goat’s milk Greek feta, rough chopped
    [Brand: Danesborg/Anco, Québec] (✦✧✧✧✧)
  • Basil leaves, cut chiffonade

Lesson learned… must use good quality feta cheese 😐

Le Cendrillon Goat Cheese (✦✦✦✦✦)

Le Cendrillon (French for Cinderella)  is a vegetable ash-covered goat cheese by Québec producer Alexis de Portneuf, and was voted “the best goat cheese in the world” at the World Cheese Awards 2009 (it beat out another 2440 entries).  I really liked this goat cheese.  It’s very creamy and not as salty as usual feta cheese.  It’s rich enough to enjoy the goat taste (semi-strong) but not overly rich tasting.

Bottom: Rosenborg-Castello Camembert  (✦✦✦✧✧) and Brie Cheese (✦✦✦✧✧)
