Very good service and food. The portions were large and the price was very reasonable. We were especially amazed that our bread basket was a well-made focaccia. Their appetizer and entrée were excellent. However we were quite disappointed with the poorly made dessert and coffee. Overall it was a very good dining experience, just avoid the dessert and coffee.

Osso Bucco Milanese
Jarret de veau servi avec croquettes de risotto au safran et asperges
The osso bucco was very big. Very tender and you didn’t need a knife at all. The risotto croquette was a bit too dry.
We returned to Basi again in December, 2011. Their foccacia bread basket isn’t as big as the previous one, but it’s a more reasonable size for appetizer. It comes with a nice roasted red pepper spread that contains some jalapeño. Their pasta dishes are quite disappointing compared to the other dishes we tried last time. Dessert is still terrible.
Pappardelle Funghi Salvaggi
Champignons sauvages, crème et huile de truffe
Pasta was very dry. It reminded me of cream of mushroom soup. Was very one-toned and didn’t have a rich funghi flavour. Overall a very disappointing pasta dish.
Torta al Limone
Very dense and too sweet. The frosting was gross and the lemon gummy was gross. The best part of the dessert was the berries on the side. I also don’t understand why they used a wilting mint to garnish the dish.
