Washington Eats: Teaism

Teasim is a chic cafeteria-style restaurant with a fusion menu and an extensive drink list.  There’s a lot of tea infused food items and emphasizes on organic and health food.  The menu items are decent but not mind-blowing.  The drinks are nicely brewed.

Tea cured Salmon, Naan & Raita
The salmon was nice and briney, but it was quite sinewy.  Don’t get fooled by the name, there is no tea cured taste at all (and I grew up eating a lot of tea cured/smoked dishes).  Also the naan tasted like whole-wheat store bought pita.

Jasmine Creme Brulee
It was decent.  It had a pronounced jasmine tea flavour, but I found it to be oversweet.

Iced Moroccan Mint Tea
Vietnamese green tea with organic spearmint. Slightly sweetened.
I really liked this mint tea, and I usually hate anything mint flavoured (besides toothpaste).  It wasn’t overbrewed and was adequately sweetened.  It’s also one of the free refill drinks 😛
