Kingston Eats: The Pilot House Of Kingston

It’s a small pub and it has a very cozy atmosphere.  Service is alright.  No comments on the drinks because I don’t drink.  Meals are generally pretty good here.  I heard their fish and chips are the best in town (tagline “Famous for fish and chips since 1981”).  Well it’s passable if you’re having an intense craving for fish and chips, but don’t expect it to live up to the standard of good fish and chips from England.

Halibut Fish and Chips
Very fresh and not greasy at all.  The fish was in one piece and quality wasn’t bad.  However I didn’t like the batter, it was much too thick and it had a bit of a gummy texture to it.  The cucumber tartar sauce was quite good.  The fries were disappointingly soggy (there was only a mere 5 minute lag between getting the food and eating the fries).
