NYC Eats: Vive la crêpe!

I visited the Bleecker St location.  The place is beautiful with a chic décor.   Price is on the higher end, but the crêpes are very tasty and filling (with just the perfect amount).  They are light, airy, evenly browned that are just a little crisp around the edges.  This is how good crêpes should be like.  The whole making process is in display in front of you.  Service was quite fast.  The crêpes can be taken as dessert of a complete meal.  Interestingly we met the owners and they were three Mexican brothers who fell in love with the crêpes they had in Paris.  They felt it was so delicious and loved the atmosphere and romance of Paris, that they wanted to bring it back with them so they have a crêperie in their hometown and in NYC as well!

NYC Eats: The Bread Factory Café

I went to the shop on 7th Avenue between 35th and 36th Street.  You order and pay at the front.  Shop is always crowded but the line moves fast so it’s not too hard to find a place to sit.  The Bread Factory has a bit of everything.  While there’s a huge variety of food offered (muffins, pastries, Chinese food, Mexican food, burgers, pizza and salad), it certainly looks better than it tastes.  I don’t think the prices is that good for the quality of food (but it’s expected for the location).

NYC Eats: Le Pain Quotidien

Le Pain Quotidien is a Belgian chain with locations all over NYC, other locations in the US and as well as around the world. While chains can be a hit-or-miss, I’ve been pleasantly happy with Le Pain Quotidien.

It was surprisingly good. It wasn’t cloyingly oversweet like other pecan tart.

Food was not fresh.  If it’s not because of the snow blizzard I would not come here.  At least Faye finally got a picture of an American Chinese take-out box.

NYC Eats: Shake Shack

✣ Top pick ✣

It’s always on my to-go list.  Finally tried it and I liked it.  It may not be as good as a restaurant quality burger, but it’s one of the best chain-store burger.  The bun is sticky enough to contain all the mess without getting soggy from the juice.  I’m pleasantly surprised the shakes have just the right amount of sweetness and are not oversweet.  Be prepared line is always going to be long no matter what time in the day you arrive (it does move fast though)
